Camp Mamaw Day Two

Another big day.
Started with church
had breakfast tacos after
made the grocery list
had lunch at home
went to grocery store
(which was a chore because Tom usually does our shopping)
we had to try some new things
like figs, white peaches and
dragon fruit!
more swimming
more baking
had to make BackPack Bars to take to
Slitterbaun with us tomorrow
had sushi for dinner
Today went FAST!

Well Camp Mamaw is on it's way.
Day One:
picked them up at airport
did jigsaw puzzles (one from New Zealand and one on computer)
baked cookies (and ate way too many of them)
went swimming
ate at Alamo Cafe
made stuff with balloons
and then I slept like a log.

Where I have been.

Dear Blog Friends,
I am sorry again to have been away so long.
Actually I have been very busy.
First there was a trip to LA to stay with our nephew
while his parents went to Ireland.
While I was there I read four book, took two
cooking classes, one Apple class and
went to Santa Barbara to visit our niece
(the sister of the nephew---tee hee)
and do lots of walking in the beautiful city
of Westlake Village.
So then, a week after I got back from LA, I drove to Houston
to co-give a bridal shower for another niece. Then I spent
a few days with my oldest (long time not age) friend, Diane.
We did lots of running around, and laughing, both which we
are very very good at.
then I drove to Dallas to attend the dance recital of my
beautiful granddaughter.
If my also beautiful daughter would send the the photos I
would share them........
then there was the long drive home.
Lots of driving and lots of happiness to be home
and in my own bed.

Day Two in NZ

One of the things I did on Sunday was go to a bilingual Mass. The mass and songs were in Samoan and English. I just love new experiences and this was cool. I think hearing it in a different language made me focus on the prayers even more and the music was very moving.
After church we had all sorts of fun, including a visit to a garden nursery. The moss was one thing that caught my eyes. I don't think I have ever seen so many different shades of green as I did in New Zealand. They tell me anything can grow there.
